Billet production at Aleris uses a fully automated lathe, a modern ultrasonic test unit and a variety of special testing devices.  We have the flexibility to produce a large selection of standard and customized alloys in a wide range of sizes.

• Round billets, diameters from 178 mm to 680 mm (7 inches to 25 inches, with a maximum length of 4,000 mm)
• Round billets skimmed down to any size (maximum length of 1,750 mm)

• Minimum quantity per cast:  
• Standard alloys: in Europe, 500 kg per dimension 
• Customized alloys: 9 -10 tons
• Special metal treatment with IRMA, SNIF boxes, ceramic filter
• Chemical analysis and mechanical characteristic test -- on request
• VAC test
• Homogenization with special cooling station
• Ultrasonic test per customer specification
• Traceability of all orders (up to 10 years)
