Community
Recycling aluminum provides an important benefit to local community groups, including schools, and youth groups. Aluminum “can drives” are often used by these groups as a way to raise funds for special projects, events, or members of the community in need. National charitable groups also sponsor fund-raising events using aluminum recycling. For example, Cans for Habitat program is a national partnership between the Aluminum Association and the Habitat for Humanity that raises money from the collection of used beverage cans to help build affordable housing for disadvantaged families.
